Tesla recalls 80 thousand electric cars due to problems with seat belts
Tesla is recalling about 80,000 electric cars from China due to problems with seat belts, as well as software bugs.
The recall will affect about 70,000 imported Model S, Model X and Model 3 models, as well as 10,000 Chinese-made Model 3s. The Model S and Model X will require a software bug fix to correct a defect in the vehicle’s battery management system that could result in loss of power. As for the Model 3, they were found to have a faulty seat belt attachment.
Tesla urged all Model 3 owners affected by the defect to return their vehicles for maintenance if necessary, and also urged drivers to be “careful” on the road.
