Boeing delivered 35 aircraft to customers in August

American concern Boeing Co (NYSE:BA). delivered 35 aircraft last month, partly due to the resumption of deliveries of new 787 Dreamliners to airlines.

Among the Boeing customers who received the new aircraft in August were the German Lufthansa and the Dutch KLM. Earlier, Boeing received permission to resume deliveries of these aircraft from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Both airlines received one aircraft each.

Boeing also received 26 new aircraft orders in August, half of which were 737 MAX aircraft. The total number of Boeing orders for the year was 388, the company delivered 277 aircraft. In turn, the corresponding figures for Boeing’s competitor, the European aerospace corporation Airbus (EPA:AIR) SE, are 637 and 380.

Both manufacturers said supply chain issues are limiting their ability to ramp up production despite rising demand for air travel.

Boeing shares are down 4.9% in trading on Tuesday. Since the beginning of the year they have fallen by 25%.
