American electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN). increased production in 2022 by almost 20%, but could not reach the goal of producing 25 thousand cars.
Rivian produced a total of 24,337 vehicles last year, the company said. In 2021, this figure amounted to 20.332 thousand rubles.
In the fourth quarter of last year, the company produced 10.02 thousand vehicles.
Deliveries of Rivian electric vehicles to customers amounted to 8.054 thousand units in October-December and 20.332 thousand cars in 2022.
In a message to employees, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe wrote that the company was unable to meet production targets due to the ongoing crisis in global supply chains. He noted that more than 700 electric vehicles were left unassembled at the end of last year due to component shortages or other problems.
Rivian shares fell 5.9% in trading on Tuesday. In 2022, their value fell by 83%.
